A tale related to the Mandir was. During that time Guru Dronacharya was suffering from poverty even though they had no cow. Once the little boy Aswathama ( Guru Dronacharya's son) demands milk to drink from his father. The helpless father replied son we don't have a cow so that we can take her milk. You must pray to Lord Shiva, he will help you to relieve your thirst. The boy went to a cave and started praying to Lord Shiva, he prayed for six months and as a result, he got milk which is dripping down from the cave ceiling to the Shivling at the cave and by using that milk he got relieved from the thirst and hence the place got its name Tapkeshwar i.e. dripping drop, Mahadev Mandir, and as the cave is used by the Guru Dronacharya for worship, it is known as Drona Chufa. The Shivling also got its name and is also known as Dugdheswar Mahadev. It is said that with the coming of Kalyug in time that milk drop changes into water and we can still today see water droplets dropping down from all through the cave ceiling continuously on Shivling.

The best time to move into the temple is the rainy season, also known as "Sawan" as this time the temple got enriched with the spiritual feeling all around with the slogans of " Bam Bam Bhole", " Har Har Mahadev" or " Jai Shiv Shankar". Even during this season, many people came here to take darshan in the temple as in this whole season the Shivling get worshipped by peoples and according to sacred texts, gods and goddess also came here to worship Lord Shiva.
So, if it's seasonal and you are free and a devotee then I must say, you must visit here.
