Many philosophers and thinkers gave their knowledge and quotes on healthy living which came out from the exercises and games done by people. In Dehradun, it was done effectively by many colleges and one of them is Maharana Pratap Sports College.

On 16 December 2016 at Maharana Pratap Sports College Raipur, an International Sports stadium got inaugurated. Some of the Sports like:- 

• Athletics
• Football
• Volleyball
• Hockey
• Cricket
• Boxing

can be played over here, even students get trained over here in these sports. The sports stadium covered an area of 103 acres of land at Thano, Raipur which is about 10kms away from the main city. The medium of giving knowledge here is basically Hindi. Even the college has equipped with lots of books on various sports and games by many different authors as well as they have newsletters and magazines with the latest sports discoveries.

 

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium

Another sports complex is Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and sports complex. It is the first of its kind since the State was formed, it has no sports facilities therefore the construction of such a huge sports stadium in the state has put a great effort and emphasis on the Sports culture. It covers a land area of 23 acres.

The inauguration of the stadium was followed by a cultural program to a 20-20 match between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand cricket teams. The playground has ten pitches where 5 were used for practice while the remaining ones are used for matches.

The Stadium consists of two badminton courts, synthetic basketball, and volleyball courts along with separate sections for Taekwondo, Judo, well-equipped boxing Rings, and Table tennis. The cricket stadium is named after the Ex-Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.

 Also comprised of Gymnasium, Clubhouse, Swimming Pool, Bowling Alley, Billard's room, Spa, Banquet Hall, physiotherapy centre and an auditorium for 100 sitters with well-equipped equipment. The Stadium is comprised of 25,000 people and was built according to the norms of ICICI. In the future time, IPL could be played over here. Even IPL 2017 was proposed to be held here but due to construction delays, it didn't get possible. The stadium was built under a budget of 237 crores which was financed by the state government.

Our state has been entitled to National sports events 2018, which were going to be organized over these stadiums. so get set ready for the games guys.
